Whitfield, Burnett earn silver, increase Canada's haul to 11 medals
BEIJING - Gymnast Jason Burnett reached the podium in his first Olympics while veteran triathlete Simon Whitfield won his second career medal as Canada enjoyed another successful day at the Beijing Games.
Burnett won silver in men's trampoline. The three-time Canadian champion from Toronto expertly executed a routine with a high difficulty rating and finished second with 40.7 points. Lu Chunlong of China won the gold medal with 41 points, while countryman Dong Dong won bronze with 40.6.

Oil fluctuates around $113 as storm threat eases
NEW YORK - Oil prices fluctuated Tuesday, hovering near $113 a barrel after the dollar weakened and Tropical Storm Fay missed offshore oil and gas installations in the Gulf of Mexico.
At the pump, retail gas prices continued to fall, suggesting that cash-strapped Americans are still cutting back on their driving.
A gallon of regular slipped another penny overnight to a new national average of $3.73, almost 10 per cent lower than record prices of $4.114 a gallon reached July 17, according to auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express.

Canadian Olympic team looks good for projected top-16 finish at Beijing Games
BEIJING - The Canadian Olympic Committee's prediction of a top-16 finish at the Beijing Olympics is suddenly looking pretty good.
Canadian athletes won four more medals Thursday, increasing the nation's medal total to 13 and moving Canada into a tie with the Netherlands for 12th place in the overall medal standings.

Fluid Music Canada faces lawsuit from PFH Investments over debenture claims
TORONTO - Fluid Music Canada Inc. (TSX:FMN) is being sued by PFH Investments Ltd. over a debenture dispute.
Fluid Music, which handles distribution of unsigned and relatively unknown musicians through online platforms, said Tuesday that PFH is seeking to reinstate a debenture which was repurchased in June from the proceeds of the company's initial public offering of stock.
PFH is also seeking unspecified damages.
Fluid said that it is talking to lawyers about its options.

Egyptian woman gives birth to septuplets via Caesarean section
CAIRO, Egypt - A 27-year-old Egyptian woman gave birth to septuplets early Saturday in the coastal city of Alexandria, family members and the hospital director said.
Ghazala Khamis was in good condition after having a blood transfusion during her Caesarean section due to bleeding, said Emad Darwish, director of the El-Shatbi Hospital where she gave birth.
